We don't know that GEH wanted out - they were probably happy to sit on the IP for another 10 years.
Perhaps... MG, maybe with the assistance of RL, gave them an almighty 'crap or get of the can', which left them with no choice.
Either way there is a positive here - we either needed GEH to proceed or we needed them to FO. Both these options better than where we were at.
