Dick Fuld was one of Lehman Brothers' biggest shareholders, it didn't stop him from shooting himself and every other Lehman shareholder and almost every other listed company shareholder in the collective foot back in 08.
I'm not saying that MG is going to f*ck things up on anything like the same scale, I'm just saying that going on past history, he hasn't exactly covered himself in glory and it may very well be that he simply isn't up to the task of commercialising this tech.
