    You never dismiss competition as a threat. Even for a natural resource. Example is oil, in the 70's they said there was only 20 years of oil supply left in the world. The rest is history and along comes shale. Then electric cars etc. World shortage of sand may create an opportunity for a synthetic replacement. Who knows. Anyway, never dismiss competition.
