Here is the long term silver/gold price chart. We can treat the 1980 spike as an aberration as Nelson Bunker Hunt was trying to "capture" the silver market. But otherwise we see the current ratio of 0.12 being below most of the longer term ratios. So there is opportunity for Silver price to appreciate, though value driven these days more by industrial uses than precious-metal-store-of-value, or so I expect.
