The Federal Reserve is not in control of every single aspect of the US economy. It regularly issues warnings of overheated markets and it did in the case of the housing market, but suckers took no notice and continued borrowing money and spending it.
Hmmm...lots of food for thought there. Fed has no control, & people like to borrow money and spend it.
