Yes, the Rio guy.

Why am I listening?

Only because I have the TV on when I'm trading sometimes.

Mostly I'll listen to music or what a movie. Sometimes I swithch on the financial channels to get a feel of sentiment.

The more bullish the talking heads, the more bearish I get.

I also find it quite comical.

I love the way they find a news story to fit the market action.

If the market goes up they pick a good story and if it goes down they find a bad story.

I especially love it when they can't find a story to fit the direction. They are like chooks with their heads cut off. They run about aimlessly banging up against the walls.

Of course the news has little to do with market action, except in a minor sense.

If news had anything to do with market action then you wouldn't be able to know what it was going to do years in advance. How hard would it be then. Imagine not knowing what the market was going to do in advance, at least in a general sense.

Yes, you can trade without knowing, successfully, but it adds confidence and also allows better weighting of positions. It also aids in knowing when to leave on long lasting positions.
