Because, whatever the arguments for silver metal itself, Macmin is not silver. It is trying to mine silver, so far with conspicuous lack of success. People who would have been supporters of Macmin, because they believe that silver is a value investment, do not buy the shares, because almost 18 months after first production the company is running at a big loss and is still coming back to investors for funds.
If you like silver, then unless you can buy on American or Canadian exchanges, you're pretty much limited to buying bullion - which is not such a bad thing! You can buy Coeur d'Alene (CXC) here, but they've had their own problems.
