Silver is a no brainer if you are seeking protection from currency debasement. If only a fraction of the world's goldbugs have lightbulb moments you will see the gold to silver ratio tighten.
If I was holding gold I would be fearful of just how low the price could be smashed with no secondary demand base to fall back on and 166,000 tonnes of total historic mined amount that could easily come back to market. No such thing as a cold, hard hand these days.
