Sniffs of short-covering today (both longs and intra-day - and forget the "official lists"), strategic stakes, investor interest in the adjusted value realisation and of course all the trader tragics attracted like moths to a flame...all competing for the same limited space.

It never ceases to amaze me that a stock can be so inherently "undervalued"...yet the simple release of information with no particular value assignment, can result in such a significant re-rating.

Investors do not usually get "value" so wrong...in my view this is generally at the hands of molesters of stocks for ulterior motive.

They got stung today in my view.

Today's activity points to a heavily "managed" stock price prior to today...perhaps part of some ongoing softening via all manner of dirty tricks, including short-selling, and wider suppression, typical of attractive stories needing to raise cash to progress their assets from time to time.

I have been a follower of MEO over the years...it is reliably volatile from time to time...nearly always around placements, but also during the odd drilling programme (as most O&G stocks do).

In short...it looks to me like the Company dealt themselves a massive Royal Flush today...a hand they can't lose (at least from current levels).

All that the many "outsiders" can do, with their various plans for control, is go into damage control.

That said, it is very hard to put a value on MEO, but suffice to say any "price" will be more than the sum of the parts...collectively and strategically, MEO's assets are worth significantly more to several very large players.

I am thinking hundreds not tens.

What assets---a 15% deal of 110 b/p/d--no other producing asset---T/S with a 3 billion price .tag--assets are worth nothing if their producing nothing----grade 2 maths !!!
