Beazley has been a dead man walking since he got his "second chance."
No one with realistic aspirations of being prime minister would have taken the position which was so obviously a losing one.
The real contenders are waiting for the years to pass and when the winds of change come (as they always do) the battle over who will lead them will really begin.
Beasley will never be allowed to stuff it up again. He'll be chopped as soon as they see a chance of winning government.
It will be interesting whether Beasley will fall on his sword or whether they will have to go through an embarassing battle to get rid of him.
