Well I don't know whats happened in the staff room last week but man its a topic for water cooler discussion.
I have spent the last few hours researching and this is what i have found
Simon Kantor is a software programmer writer with a history of software development for cooperates how paid him for his work. the work he performed is owned by the company. For Simon to have intellectual property it would have to been registered with Australia like IP Australia as him as the owner and author. I can not find any registration of software with Simon name to it.
It is quite possible that when the three companies merged Simon released his unregistered software in good faith. But as we all may have discovered sometimes when someone has a good idea there high fives around but later the reality sets in and relationships fall apart.
There are no winners when the court is involved
