Here is a very simple calculation... please all comments appreciated.. i'm not an expert...
http://www.simetric.co.uk/si_materials.htm
1 cu metre quartz = 2643kgs
there are 4 kms of strike
vein is 2.5 metres wide
depth unknown say 12m
So using these dimensions 4000 x 2.5 x 12 = 120,625 cu. metres.
120625 x 2643kgs (2.643 tonnes) = 318,811 tonnes material
318,811 X 12.3 grams = 3,921,386 grams
3921386 / 31.1 = 126,089 troy ozs.
x $1400 ozs = $176,524,600
x 35% = $61,783,610 to CFR
'whole of project' costs of production for high grade surface deposit, low cost labour environment...i'm not sure, maybe others can add their thoughts at this stage.
and yes, you can discount the above BUT vein is open at depth and there are probably undiscovered veins in the area.
PS I feel sorry for the 'artisinal miners' hope they get a job with any new mine.
