    Hangdog,
Suggest a number of days of wind drought that should be allowed for until the lights go out.

In my view it should be enough to meet a 99.5% of time of recorded weather records showing "wind droughts". The BOM is unlikely to help, so I suggest the batteries should be enough to back up 3 weeks of wind drought. Allow (generously) that solar covers all day time requirements and that leaves 21 days x 12 hours = 252 hours of 50,000 MW. Thats 12, 600, 000 MWHr.

The biggest battery currently proposed for Australia is 2,400 MWHr. We will need 5,250 of these.
