I couldn't imagine anything more frustrating than conducting business in Indonesia.
I don't blame Quest from not revealing too much information, there are so, so many greasy palms up there waiting for the next opportunity for easy money.
Having travelled to Bali many times, it still requires
a few days to acclimatise to their way of life and accept that the land is rife with corruption.
eg: My scooter was over the white line along with 20 other locals waiting for the lights to change, I alone had to go aound the corner to "settle" the matter with the cop. Cops seeing a bemo full of tourists going to Ubud, more money exchanged.
The broken toilet in the hotel, a "technician" arrives and says "sin can can", (No problems) still cost me quite a few rupiah.
All things occur in slow motion in Indonesia and it takes a while for you to realise that you too have slowed down and walking the Bali Shuffle.
I try to be understanding of the management's reasoning
for lack of info, but sometimes I can't think logically
and my demon rears it's ugly head...show me the money!!

    Good Luck!
