I don't know what the future holds, and neither does he, for all his huffing and puffing.

Gold is in a bull mkt at the moment, but if the derivatives house of cards collapses, or the US debt market implodes, all bets are off. Huge deflation would be the order of the day, and that would probably mean gold too. However, it would probably deflate less than most other asset classes.

In which case, cash would be king.

But who knows? Play it day by day.
