Some pretty amazing facts in this, I think it has been indicated that Tesla's 500,000 EV production will need equivalent to the total Lithium production of 2015.
This presentation indicates China plans on producing for its own market 1M EV's per year and India has recently indicated a plan to have 6M EV's on the road by 2020 and a complete switch over to EV's by 2030. On top of that both Norway and Netherlands intend to have a complete ban on oil driven vehicles by 2025.
No mention of Germany but with Mercedes and VW coming in strong I think by 2020 Lithium requirements will be more than 5 times current production.
