Let’s hope it is a little more scientific than a coin toss. I doubt that a great deal of substantive difference will exist between the bids. Do I think that the bid with the highest local content would get the tender? Frankly no. This decision has to stand up to scrutiny so the techco’s will look after all that “stuff” and the pollies will decide upon two fine proposals. I think that the best interest of WA and Australia would be better served if as many stakeholders as is possible, build, manage and run it, IMO the best way to ensure that this happens is to award it to the target company (MMX). Only thing that puzzles me is why Sino are not moving on MMX right now, have no answer on this one, unless in the next week or so with the talk down doing it's job they increase stake with a couple of big holders.
