It's not that long ago that our Chairman was quoted as saying something like "Everyone from the US President down would prefer for the US not to have to buy its oil from Osama bin-Laden land"

If that's true, it will be interesting to see whether the US government, now that it has the opportunity to wean the country off its dependency on the Middle East, will be happy to let Chinese and other overseas investors come in and buy up significant chunks of their emerging oil reserves.
