What needs to improve to get conti to where it should be?

Any number of things:

1. Return of favourable sentiment & prices for coal - have a look at recent spate of downgrades & warnings for the largest US coal stocks. Most of the best run & respected coal companies are sitting at 52w lows.

2. Greeks, French, Spanish, Portugese, Poms, etc need to stop scaring the crap out of markets on a daily basis

3. Gillard & ALP need to get dumped ASAP - as they are destroying business confidence in Australia & driving investors away from the Aussie market

4. Helicopter Ben needs to airdrop QE3

5. Conti need to stick to their announced timelines & restore investor confidence that they are indeed capable of meeting these expectations. Best to under promise & over deliver.

6. Penumbra needs to be finished on time, on budget - producing 500ktpa saleable RB coal before year end. Excellent hedging rates locked in will help a great deal.

7. Botswana results & renewal of leases from Botswana govt need to come through ASAP

8. Clear development guidelines and secured funding for DeWitt, Vlakplaats & Vaalbank (International JV partners like KORES & Total will help here)

9. Coking Coal in Colombia? USA? African logistics solutions? See most recent appendix 3B for reference

10. SIOC-cdt need to live up to their billing by guaranteeing BBBEE preferential rail & port allocations for CCL, stumping up their share of development costs, and help speed through mining approvals, etc

11. Keep doing what they are doing at Vlakvark & Ferreira (incl extended Ferreira mine)- consistently improving production rates & making profits

12. Get those long touted instos & fundies on board - and buying on market

13. Some decent liquidity in AiM market

14. Finalise VanMag finally!

15. Both Peter Landau & Andy Macaulay retiring from the board would help too.

How's that for a start?
