Sirius still in talks with Esperance port on exports

SIRIUS Resources is still in discussions with Esperance Ports Sea and Land (EPSL) regarding the export of nickel and copper concentrate from its Nova-Bollinger project in the Fraser Range.

A Sirius Resources spokesperson said the mining company was also considering Geraldton as an export gateway for its products.

"At this stage there is no reliance on the Esperance option as Geraldton is equally possible with regards to ports and there are also Western Australian processing options," the spokesperson said.

The company announced last month to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) that it had taken 100 per cent ownership of the Nova-Bollinger resource and the project's forecast cash flow.

Sirius said it expected to derive significant financial and timing benefits from having 100 per cent control of the development of the Nova-Bollinger project.

Further operational cost savings would be achieved by avoiding the need for a production joint venture, the company said.

"Reaching agreement to consolidate 100 per cent ownership of what we believe will emerge as one of Australia's leading nickel mines is an important milestone for Sirius and its shareholders," Sirius managing director Mark Bennett said.

"The agreement has been structured in a manner which delivers Sirius 100 per cent ownership, yet leaves us with a significant cash position to complete the definitive feasibility study and continue with an aggressive exploration program."

Sirius said it planned to start production at its Nova-Bollinger project during the second half of 2016.
