The answer is yes, TACE damages the vascular supply to the tumor making it more difficult to treat with SIRT. After 4 rounds of TACE, SIRT might be no longer possible. If the intention is to downstage with SIRT, prior TACE would reduce effectiveness. For that reason not everyone likes TACE, although it has its advocates many of whom are sponsored by competitors, and SIRT threatens to supersede it.
