Good Morning and Welcome to the XJO Monday Thread
News for Today (AEST)
(massive worldwide news day, lol)
![]()
The XJO closed marginally lower on Friday,
spread was again narrow, with a high close.
Volume (value traded) was high, but affected by equity expiry, which always muddies the waters a little.
The Index spent most of the day in negative territory, offering the sellers an opportunity to gain the upper hand.
especially after Thursdays questionable bar may have inferred that supply was present.
However, this opportunity was not taken by the bears, and the index closed less than 5 points lower.
It was interesting that the DJIA closed down 123points (0.7%) overnight on Friday.
However it should be noted that ~66 points of that fall was due to Visa, which closed down 4.7%, after the company trimmed its forecast for annual revenue growth.
The DJIA gives greater weighting to its components with a higher stock price, as opposed to market capitalisation, Visa (at about $US212) is the highest priced stock in the Dow.
I am unsure how our Local Market will view this ??
