By "controlled" I think you aware of what I mean. As you say when the permits are granted the stock will soar..then getting in at 5 cents must sound reasonable. You must remember where on the ASX you are monitoring, down at speculative resources...only difference here is we have found something in the ground and effectively open cut for 30 odd years. We have passed the exploration stage and now entering development and then production with 2 years. The only thing holding back the SP is the so called "sovereign risk" that a typical investor sees on google and then runs away. A lot of the information is old hat as Myanmar's development is happening apace. To be fair my only concern is the re-election of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. She has taken a battering over the "genocide" claims made by the ICC and it takes a strong person to come back fighting. I have written previously about my views who was behind that terrible period and it wasn't Ms Kyi. She is a wonderful person imo. I read somewhere recently that she had received medical advice to take a backward step but instead has decided to contest the election. She should be a clear winner but you never know. The junta are always there but no match for the control and influence the Chinese will have with their belt and road investments.

One of the answers I was hunting on this trip was whether we are likely to see a change in government or not (elections late in year).
I wont give details of who said what but I had a number of conversations with people at 'high levels;' whom I believe have their finger on the pulse of the nation and their unanimous opinion was the status quo will be maintained.

PS I agree, a wonderful woman who has done incredibly well over a long period of time in dealing with complex issues.
