Site visit

Had the good fortune of getting on an insto site visit to the new Freedom Foods factory at Ingleburn.
It’s impressive. 30,000 sqm of roofed space, v 6,000 at Taren Point.
The old site at Taren Point had 60 staff. This one gets by with 30.
The processes, automation, logistics, all vastly improved.
We had presentations from not only MD but also head of branding and marketing.
Some of the new brands coming looked impressive, like Messy Monkeys and Barley +. As for the Crafted Blends Quinoa chips, well I destroyed a packet of those during the presentation..
They have impressive people in key roles but like any operation it starts at the top and Rory Macleod is one astute operator.
As for regrets cashing out of A2, they needed the cash to build this factory and it will repay in spades.
And surely it’s only a matter of time before they play the A2 game. With their own A2 herd, I’m guessing on subtle marketing in products like Kids Milk..
As per recent cpy announcements Perpetual has reduced it’s stake. Would be nice to see another big insto come on board and soak up stock.
It trades on a high PE. But then again this a company going places.
