Fascinating to see that almost nobody takes notice on the huge progress towards a reopening of Panguna.
Remember the situation 5ys ago, new president Kabui saying "never mining again" and Ona still around.
Situation now: Panguna landwoners want to reopen and are close to elections which is necessary to participate in BCA discussions. And new elected president Momis meanwhile in public says BCA to be discussed in 2010.
But nobody cares about in the market.....wondering if it really takes as long as BOC and RIO announce start of BCA discussions which in my eyes would trigger headlines like "Panguna mine to be reopenend or reopening officially discussed".
Let?s see when the announcement comes...what we need is landwoner election, the JSB meeting....and then BOC is ready to anounce BCA discussions...maybe in August or September?
