I was watching the Mandarin news on SBS this morning and one interviewee said in a nutshell that the Chinese economy is far more run by the government rather than profit seeking individuals.
His point was that the Chinese government could tear down those empty apartment buildings and build them up again to keep the economy ticking over. Worth watching the interview.
