Well, my 2c is that the IP will be fine... if Veyonda works. And if it doesn't work, it's not worth protecting anyway, right?
Even if a straightforward method / composition patent doesn't succeed (and it's far from certain that it won't, yet), there is a perfectly acceptable route of protecting via dosage regimen and drug combinations, both strategies that NOX are pursuing. It may come down to proving in vivo or even clinical effects, depending on the jurisdiction, but NOX appear to have all their ducks in a row.
