You people are living in a dream world sorry to say.
This event will go well past Oct just as a start, there will not be a valid Vaccine for at least 12 months and the minute that the Gov't lift the current societal controls the Virus will re-emerge and continue to spread just as it is now amongst those still to be infected with the same rates that it is now.
The current regime is lives above $, and that is what Gov't are elected to do when it comes down to basics, it is their core responsibility to protect the people who elect them from enemy's both within and without.
Gov't are not elected to protect Corporations or Bank's from harm but the population. You know, the ones who pay the taxes, the ones who foot the bill at the end of it all with their tax dollars. Business' will only survive if there is a consumer base for them to serve once this is all over and without that consumer base, even if they do survive the initial downturn they are FUBAR'D.
If the general population are not looked after then there is no rebound at the end of the tunnel. And let's face the facts, there is very little manufacturing in Aus any more, it has basically become a service economy based upon tourism and a raw materials industry that pay's royalties of cent's on the dollar which then buys the same product's back at vastly inflated rates.
Maybe it's time again to become at least half self sufficient for the benefit of all in our country instead of just benefiting a few instead ?
I'm not proposing Socialism at all, just a more self sufficient Aus that look's after itself first rather than a selling out of the wealth we all own for cent's on the dollar and not putting anything away for future generations.
