here's the news flash ------------- I'm sure it will take another year to sink in
we are NOT going to get back to what we knew as 'normal' lives
it's NOT going to be the same - even if the virus magically disappeared by midnight --
we might make some really good changes in Australia IF we are smart - life might improve --
having the bushfire disaster then on top of it this --
we might - just might -------- rethink that really wild lefty idea (which now looks like a rightwing extremist idea) -- -of a national disaster insurance
thereby not having people living in tents after bushfires -------- thereby people not having to worry about where they will live after bushfires or if their private insurance will or won't pay
really wild ideas like that - that just happen to work very well in other nations
that's not nirvana ------------ that one is just plain bloody common sense
who woulda thought?

a Universal Basic Income - which would completely solve the problems we have now with long lines of people trying to register for social security -
how would it solve that?
because every single soul in the nation would be registered ------- doesn't matter if the UBI in that case was 500 bucks a week or 5 bucks a week -
the point is - the system would already be set up
and, if it were say - 50 bucks a week -- and in an emergency you wanted to give people 500 bucks a week -
you just move the decimal point one place to the right ------
