I have some cash....looking mainly at Santos STO, WPL. I just think oil is the safest for the following reasons:

1. Very difficult and expensive to find;
2. Supply is controlled by a cartel who can and do manipulate the price as they see fit;
3. OPEC has been enjoying the river of money coming in, and arne't going to let the price drop to much more;
4. Yes there will be an economic slowdown, but oil demand will only keep going up;
5. No ready substitute.

I already have BHP and RIV (coal).

What are you thinking LH?
