If you can't cook for yourself then seek out a takeaway
shop in your nearest industrial area. These seem to be
the last survivors that sell chicken schnitzel rolls with
lettuce and mayo, or Australian style hamburgers,
decent chips etc. Don't forget the rissole on a roll.
Unfortunately, most local takeaways seem to sell
"yuppified" over priced items these days that I wouldn't
touch.
Here in Cronulla we had plenty of good takeaways and
fish shops but they died out years ago.
