SKG partners with AMD on home media software
SYDNEY 21 June 2005 – SkyNetGlobal Limited, listed on ASX (“SKG”) in Sydney and on AIM
(“SKN”) in London, announced a key partnership today with US-based AMD (NYSE:AMD), a world
leader in microprocessor design and manufacturing. Optimisations made specifically for AMD64
technology will be embedded in “ShowShifter,” SkyNetGlobal’s version of digital home media software.
With more than one million users worldwide, ShowShifter is the leading challenger to Microsoft’s
Home Media Center software, providing consumers with a robust and feature-rich alternative.
ShowShifter was developed in the UK by Home Media Networks Ltd, which was acquired by
SkyNetGlobal in April.

dedicated to media capture and management, while the other is free for typical computing tasks,” says

Home Media Networks will be developing a high-end version of ShowShifter that is expected to ship
Q4 2005 and will include new advanced features, such us the ability to record multiple channels of
HDTV, while simultaneously viewing another channel.
ShowShifter allows users to watch, record and time-shift (pause) TV, play DVDs, CDs and MP3 music
files all through one interface. The ability to control ShowShifter with a remote control and its unique
Farview interface enables the consumer to use the product from anywhere in the room with a simple,
unified interface for all home entertainment components (DVR, DVD, CD, etc), as with conventional
home entertainment products. ShowShifter was released in 2000 and has won numerous technology
and consumer awards.
