SKODA uses CUDA for predictive maintenance

Someone had posted this link in another thread RE SKODA using AI for predictive maintenance in their production lines (article here).

I had done a lot of digging seeing if it was AKIDA that was being used in their MAGIC EYE (what they're calling their solution to predictive maintenance), as a lot of what was written in the article had similarities to how AKIDA functions. I ended up emailing the company and got a response from the Predictive Maintenance Project Manger - who advised it is actually NVIDIA's A5000 RTX GPU and CUDA technology they were using.





For those who are interested, I've emailed back asking whether or not they were aware of AKIDA and if so why they chose CUDA and a GPU over a NPU. And if they weren't aware I've directed them to the brainchip website where they can learn more. I will post the reply when I get one.

Also, you'll note at the end of the article: "Volkswagen Group as a whole is interested in the technology."

Either SKODA weren't aware of AKIDA at the time, as it would be an absolute text-book application for AKIDA (as well as much more beneficial then GPU processing) for use in their MAGIC EYE, or they did know about it and chose to use CUDA over it. Awaiting their response as per above.

Very interesting non the less and definitely another application where AKIDA could be used for what's called 'predictive maintenance' in production lines.
