if that statement was true, then they would have seen the drop in 08/09..and the correction would have been a slow cooling, not a precipitous drop.

truth is Markets predict what people want them to.
buyers floding into the DOW and other indeces are not spotting a trend, they are seeing a bandwagon and jumping on it.
