Three PS5 Launch Games Came to Life Thanks to This Malaysian Studio

While most of us here in Southeast Asia are patiently waiting to get our hands on the PlayStation 5, there are some of us who are diligently putting in the hours to make the games for the PS5 come to life.

Malaysia’s very own Lemon Sky Studios is back at it again; this time, their portfolio of triple-A games has expanded to include three games from the PS5’s launch lineup. If you’re unfamiliar with the studio, it specialises in supplying 3D models and assets for major game development studios around the world.



The first two launch titles that Lemon Sky Studios was involved in are Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, both produced by Insomniac Games. Spider-Man Miles Morales serves as a sequel to the original Marvel’s Spider-Man game that was released for the PS4 in 2018, while Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is an updated version of the original PS4 game with graphics enhanced by ray-tracing.

Eng Tzy Ling, Studio Manager of Lemon Sky Studios, had this to say about their experience: “It has been a great pleasure for us to work with Insomniac Games. From our time spent working on the original Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4, to working on the new Spider-Man games for the next console generation - the opportunity to contribute to these great titles means alot to us.”



The other launch title that Lemon Sky Studios was involved in is Demon’s Souls, a remake of the cult classic 2009 action role playing game developed by FromSoftware for the PS3, which served as the first entry in what would eventually become the widely popular “Souls” series of games.

Produced by Bluepoint Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment, Demon’s Souls for PS5 is a faithful remake of the original game in terms of gameplay, while demonstrating the potential of Sony’s next generation hardware through its 4K resolution graphics and dynamic visual effects.
