Yeah, any notion of a dividend assumes there is no other opportunity (like buying Vocus). I would much rather the cash be reinvested by the business if it can be done in a meaningful way that generates superior ROI.
I would also prefer a buyback to a dividend, but I do wonder if a divvy would push the SP higher in the nearer term.
I am personally not worried about short-medium term quoted value movements, but the Board does have to consider all shareholders and find a way that can increase market value sooner rather than later.
Will be interesting to see what they are able to do with the cash, and the HY results are just over 2 weeks away so we won't be wondering long!
