The fogeyism is strong with this one.
The fact is, try as they might, Telstra can not and will not succeed in stopping Skype. Any attempts to charge will be circumvented in a cat-and-mouse game, with the entrepreneurs many times more intelligent than the management of companies like Telstra (and especially Telstra - they are hopeless at innovation).
Telstra have already been given a massive free kick by Turnbull's joke of an NBN. Give up your silly fantasy and realise what those people with brains in Telstra already have - the future is in supplying the data networks, not in trying to stop people communicating over the internet. Voice calls are on the way to extinction, but there's far more money to be made in the cloud.
