100% agree with your sentiment but let’s not get carried away with the scale of the investment. $52 billion is a lot of money that the US is investing. But to put it in perspective this is spread over 5 years (is my understanding). TSMC has budgeted over $100 billion for the next 3 years. TSMC being one company vs the entire budget of the USA. In that light $52 bill is not that much.
