This has nothing to do with "most people buy at the peak".

If I buy a share at $10 and it goes to $100 then back down to $9.9 i lost money but didn't buy anywhere near the peak.

Thats what I'm getting at. Your statement that most buy the majority of shares at the peak is absolutely ridiculous.
