Nickel sulfate is NiSO4 (H20)6 and has a molecular mass of 263 g/mol. Nickel metal has a molecular mass of 58 g/mol.
So nickel sulfate has approximately 58/263 = 22% nickel content.
When people are referring to a premium to Ni spot price, they use equivalent contained nickel as a comparison rather than actual tonnage. In practice, the raw tonnage of the nickel sulfate is around 4.54 times higher than equivalent nickel metal.
It doesn't matter much in the end as it only means our 22-25kt Ni eq plant will produce 100-114kt of Ni sulfate.
At these prices, 4.54t of Ni sulfate is worth 16850$ which is a 15% premium over the 14650$ Ni spot price.
