I know absolutely nothing about the chemistry involved here, so it's interesting and educational to read this conversation. I have one newbie question, born of confusion, at this stage: if nickel sulphate is only 22% nickel why are they calling these battery cathodes 'nickel rich' instead of 'sulphur rich'?
