Perhaps it's best to look at this whole thing as a treasure hunt, which it is in every sense. A treasure hunt is supposed to be exciting, like Pokemon Go. Guaranteed the guys in the field are getting excited every day as they see the core coming out, sending visuals off to management and batches to the lab. Everyone else is getting bored and need a hit, need to see the SP rise and feel some endorphins. We're gambling. Gives us a taste Scotty. Please. Just a little hit.
