One can just start to see a definite shift on where battery manufacturers source their raw materials. Defeats the purpose of zero carbon EV’s if they are built from high carbon producing and environmentally damaging mining operations.

’Norilsk oil spill. The Norilsk diesel oil spill is an ongoing industrial disaster near Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. It began on 29 May 2020 when a fuel storage tank at Norilsk-Taimyr Energy's Thermal Power Plant No. 3 (owned by Nornickel) failed, flooding local rivers with up to 17,500 tonnes of diesel oil.’

How much of an enviable position are Blackstone in.
No diesel power so no diesel oil spills - zero carbon hydro-electric power to both mine and downstream processing plant.

Laterite miners = huge environmental footprint to process into Class 1. Not sure what will happen there and could be detrimental to Indonesia’s plans.

    A lot to think about.
