Thanks for your kind comments, occurs to me to offer these observations:-
- Algorithmic Trading whether the more sophisticated AI based or simple conditional trades
can't & shouldnt necessarily influence your own trading patterns, that is, if you have a
specific goal in mind. Sure algorithmic trading is a heck of a lot faster but, notice it can't
adjust or affect the cyclic variations you can exploit when you set your positions by way
of "pre-open" & "Closing single price auction". Those settling points even out day to day
and in a way integrate the changes throughout the day no matter how fast they appeared to move.
As such the day to day is still a level playing field so I see no reason for regulators to step
in. It might be argued those with faster feeds get an advantage in sec to sec moves but, its up to
you as "you get what you pay for" & bear in mind the queue - you can set those positions before
market has its normal trading runs...
- I'm classed as retail too and I can set 0.5c trades via commsec's/cmc's web based for >10c np
maybe you meant the +-0.25 matching which occasionally happens or something else or maybe its
an odd & specific broker limitation. Last time I checked all of em - it was fine, can you identify the firm ?
