Currently, all focuses are on Owendale project. Not many punters are aware of the sleeping giant of Skaergaard.
The latest resource estimation of Skaergaard : "Indicated and Inferred Resource estimate of 203Mt @ 0.88g/t gold and 1.33 g/t palladium". In another words, it is 5.7 Moz gold and 8.7 Moz palladium.
Recently, palladium prices are rising due to its usage in automotive catalytic converters. While supply is flat, more demand of palladium is the result of significantly more stringent emissions rules in automobile worldwide. At the moment, palladium prices already surpass Platinum's, over USD$1000+/oz.
More over, a new trend of hydrogen usage as fuel in automobile could drive palladium demand much much higher. Recent hot news about FMG and CSIRO partnership to develop metal membrane technology. Not sure what material ingredient in CSIRO's metal membrane, but palladium is tried by many institutions around the world.
A deposit of 8.7 Moz palladium is very rare in the world. Its in-situ value of 5.7 Moz gold and 8.7 Moz palladium is more than USD$10+ billions. A sleeping giant !
Exposing to palladium is very rare in Australian stocks listed in ASX.
