Lack of info at critical times has been a problem with avm for some time. However. my view is that it would be very insensitive to go announcing large positives while the world bank is investigating allegations of the company's role in alleged attrocities by the DRC forces. So heads down and lips closed is probably the only thing to do at this point.

All in all, this is a very important experience for avm and staff if you subscribe to the adage of what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Bill will have learnt a lot from this, I just hope that he hasn't lost any of his get up and go or been worn down by bad journalism.

From a conversation I had recently, these 4c journos have some romantic idea of doing something good for the people.
