    It seems the standard response to the argument that labor has lost control of the borders is that it is the oppositions fault for opposing the "Malaysia solution".

    Please correct me if I am wrong but I recall the deal being 800 boat arrivals for 4000 refugees from malaysia.
    At the current rate of arrivals the figure of 800 would be surpassed in a handful of months, thus rendering the deal complete and finished.

    My question to all here is what happens then. Is a another deal to be brokered for another 4000 from Malaysia? or does the government think that once the 800 have been sent there it will somehow change the mindset of boat refugees and they will choose another location?

    For the recoprd, I think its pathetic for both sides of politics to use these people as political capital and it shows just how pathetic our current crop of so called representatives have become.
