Agree Zonetrader that the Liberals are not totally responsible, and percentage wise Labor hold the greater responsibility for the current situation.

But both Labor and Liberals are equally responsible for not agreeing to a solution to the current issue.

As I have previously said, Both Labor and Liberal's are playing political games.

Labor will not use Nauru because it would be a win for the Liberals.

Liberals will not allow Malaysia because it would be a win for Labor.

Abbott has only included the signatory to the UN as a way of stopping the Malaysian deal, no other reason.

Proof of that is that Abbott is prepared to send boats back to Indonesia who are also non signatories to the UN, (includes Abbott sending back unaccompanied minors).

Unless both parties can agree on a solution, there will never be one.

farmboy it is obvious that you did no research into the Malaysian deal, otherwise you would have a better understanding of the special conditions and privileges that had been negotiated for the 800 Asylum seekers.

Abbott has made it clear that the Liberal party will not support the Malaysian deal, so on that basis it would not get through the Senate.

So what part of Abbott blocking the Malaysian deal going through the Senate are you claiming can be changed by Labor?
