ABC program Catalyst last night had an item on what they are doing in London to reduce carbon footprint where major city buildings are being forced or cajoled into installing generating equipment within the building as 1. Most of the energy obtained at a power station from burning coal goes up the chimney and 2. there are significant losses in the power grid. Thus when generated locally the lost heat goes straight into heating the building or alternatively operating the cooling system and the electricity is used of course within the building. Whilst the electrical energy requirements are the same say 100 units, if it had been generated at the power station it would have been say 110 units to cover transmission losses. These were big plants for big buildings and complicated equipments.

Seems to me this is exactly what CFU is obtaining all in the one box.
