Definitely the former!! It's my wife's car and she isn't interested in giving up the drivers seat at all, unlike previous cars where she has been happy if I want to drive. In brief the car has been faultless and is an absolute pleasure to drive.

We don't have a dedicated charger (yet) so it is charged from a standard 10A socket on our straight 28c/kwh tariff and costs 15-20% of what we used to spend on diesel for the previous family wagon (Toyota Prado).

I haven't driven or even been in any other current EV so I can only compare the XC40 to regular cars; it wins... second place isn't even in the same picture! As a car nut I have a list of classic cars I'd like to own one day... but for daily use in the city EVs are just too good to ignore (now that we can buy ones that don't fall into the "too ugly", "too expensive", or "both" categories!)
